Bugsby is great encourages reading, listening skills while expanding story telling
Got this for my nephew at christmas, he absolutely loves it he is a keen learner and loves reading so this encouraged him even more. The catridges are easy to insert, the pen is nice and big so he can grip it better. What I also liked are the games at the end of the pages, because he was so eager and keen he wasnt always paying attension to what he thought were the 'minor details' of the story but when the games asked him questions it forced him to go back and listen properly so this not only helps with his reading but also his listening skills which well at that age definately needs expanding. All together this is a great product my only 'nag about it are the lack of books...I wish they had a vast catalogue like that of leapster's tag system!!!

Good educational toy
I bought this for my daughter's 4th birthday together with another two books and she loves it. It's been really educational too.

Don't bother!
We got this for our son, who is a huge Thomas fan. He is 4.5 years old so we thought he'd love it. WRONG! The first thing that frustrated him was that he couldn't choose to be a different engine. What Thomas fan wouldn't be annoyed with that? Also, the directions and help aren't helpful at all! In the Calling All Engines game, at some junctions, it is very hard to get Thomas to turn to collect a letter and has brought no end of bother to my son. And in Bertie Beats The Clock, there's a segment where it tells you to answer the question with the colour-coded buttons on the joystick...but fails to adequately tell you what the question is! Unless you're paying very close attention, it's rather difficult.

I don't recommend this game at all. V-Tech could have done so much more with this game and has left us feeling we've wasted a lot of money on something that our son has now asked us to bin!

Fun game for Thomas fans aged 3+
My son loves this game - and sure, the graphics aren't fantastic but he doesnt care! What 3 year old is going to moan about graphics? The characters are all recognisable and that's all he cares about.

A blast from the past
Both the game and the vsmile system as a whole seem very old in use. The graphics are very basic and you will think about your old atari again. But I suppose thats the point - I shouldnt be playing it (im 40). My 3 year old recognises and loves the characters and doesnt seem to mind the poor display. It keeps her happy and shes learning at the same time so cant complain. That being said I think Vtech could up the quality on the games though.

Would recommend.
I have bought it for my 3 y 8 months old daughter for Eid. She absolutely loved it and cannot get enough of it! She is still a little too small to do some exercises but the story time and rhyme time is excellent! If she would be a little older i would probably need less time teaching her how to use it but is still worth it. And not to forget, it looks like a real laptop and it's PINK :)

Daughters response
Our Daughter has had a lot of fun with this toy and got to grips with the games quite quickly. As she is at school in France the ability to change between the two languages has been very useful.

brilliant defo worth the money

I have bought this for my 17mth old son who is mad on In the night Garden. It looks really good and robust, very colourful and lots of things to look at. I hope my son loves it when it comes from "Santa".

fun but letter formation and pen handling questionnable
My 4 year old son loved this and couldn't waitto get it out of the box. It is lots of fun and great for encouraging children to maintain attention on literacy based activities. As a teacher I am unhappy with how the pen needs to be held and positioned to accurately trace the lights, also the instructions for formation of some of the letters is incorrect. I am possibly being picky because of my teacher background, I love the lowercase magnetic phonic set leapfrog do and I love this product for getting children engaged in literacy based activities.

Great twist on an old favourite
I bought this for my sons 5th birthday as he is only just starting to form his letters. He loves it, you can switch it between modes, lower case / uppercase / drawing etc. If you press a letter it then talks you through forming it and the child follows the lights. The screen is like a magnadoodle and is erased with a slider. My son is very proud of himself and he uses it frequently.

bring on the writing
really pleased with this for supporting my childs interest in writing and letters, really easy for them to use. light, easy to carry about. different volume levels help a little! really beats the write and wipe type of books as it lights up the correct writing flow, and gives feedback! really popular item.

My daughter got this phone as a gift from her aunt on her 3rd birthday. She's well over four years now and this disney princess phone still amuses her & her friends! Nearly all my friends have had to go out & get this toy for their own little girls :-)

Fab present
My daughter got this for her 3rd birthday and she loves it there are quite a few games for her to play and its disney princess to. There is a memory game and she loves the little quiz where it asks little questions about the princess movies such as what did cinderella wear to the ball. She has to press the picture of a glass slipper on the keypad and she thinks it's great. It kept her quiet for ages and she could play on her own and didn't keep asking me to play with her. Great Toy

Hours of fun
My 14 month old daughter absolutely loves this toy - it does so much, makes so many different noises and also has a variety of flashing lights, counts to 10 and sings songs!

Lots of features to keep a little one occupied
I bought this for my son's first birthday because he has always been fascinated by us taking photos of him so this would be his chance to play with a camera. There are loads of different buttons and enough different noises that it doesn't get too competitive. It's really easy to grab and he can flip up the "flash" part himself.

Kids love it
My 15 months old boy loves this camera, and his 4 year old brother also likes it. A little noisy for me but they enjoy playing with it.
